Meet Yer Eats Farm Tour

Labor Day 2014 marked the sixth annual Meet Yer Eats Farm Tour, organized by Market Central. Twelve local farms participated, all vendors from Charlottesville's Saturday morning City Market. Each farm graciously opened their doors so that the public could experience how their favorite market products are grown. There were guided tours, tastings, cooking & weaving demonstrations, farm stands, gardening lectures, and much more. Each stop on the tour offered something fun and unique.
At Brightwood Vineyard & Farm in Madison County, Chef Tony provided a delicious catered lunch to hungry participants, featuring the farm's own chicken and produce. Walking tours of the farm allowed grownups and kids alike to meet the diverse farm animals, including Tunis sheep, Spanish goats, ducks, chickens, Great Pyrenees guardian dogs, and donkeys--a crowd favorite. It was a gorgeous day to commemorate the last day of summer, and we are already looking forward to Meet Yer Eats 2015!
